You can craft in The Planet Crafter by going to a workstation and producing the objects you'd like to make. There are six kinds of crafting workbenches:

Yes, you can recycle items in The Planet Crafter. You'll need a Recycling Machine (which is unlocked with a Blueprint Microchip) to break a non-building object into its component parts. As for Buildings, you can recover 100% of the building costs with a Microchip - Deconstruction.
Yes. you can destroy items in The Planet Crafter. You'll need a Shredder which is unlocked with a Blueprint Microchip.
Allows you to recycle items back into their core components. Notably, you can get Ice by placing Water Bottles inside; this is necessary after all of the ice on the planet melts.
Allows you to destroy items.
There are three ways to unlock more items in The Planet Crafter:
Items are automatically unlocked when you reach the requisite milestone for each item. The sole exception is Blueprint Microchips, which must be unlocked manually.
